So it’s been a while since my last update. Training has levelled out a bit recently, partly because of the heat. Running has definitely taken a back seat as it’s just been too hot for me, but also because I’ve been focusing on my Cheeky Chapati curry nights to raise funds for Aspire.
Following on from my Sunday session, I held my final evening event last Saturday. We set everything up outside in the garden on a lovely summer’s evening, and it couldn’t have gone better. Everyone had a great time, and it was a really successful night.
I managed to raise another £1,000, bringing the total so far to an amazing £7,134. That’s something I’m incredibly grateful for and proud of.
Now that’s wrapped up, it’s time to shift the focus back to training. I’ll be ramping things up again, getting my diet back in check, and pushing on with the second part of my personal training course. It’s all go, no stopping.
Alongside that, I’ve ticked off a solid Lake District trip. I did a couple of 15km loops with my dog, Nige, including his first ascent of Scafell Pike. The first day was brutal, absolutely chucking it down, but the second day more than made up for it with some proper summer weather.
Camping in the van at Seathwaite was a great way to recharge, even if the journey there is still a bit of a pain!
The last few weeks have looked like:
- 11 strength sessions
• 6 runs
• 2 decent hikes
